What is the Vouga Trail?
The Vouga Trail is a trail running event that takes place annually in Sever do Vouga, Portugal. The event is organized by the AZtrail Association in partnership with the local Town Hall and aims to promote physical exercise while showcasing the natural beauty of the region.
Event Details:
- Dates: The next edition will occur on January 11-12, 2025.
- Location: The race begins and ends at the Pavilhão Gimnodesportivo de Sever do Vouga, located in the Sever do Vouga Urban and Leisure Park.

Race Distances: Participants can choose from several race categories, including:
- Vouga Ultra Trail: 55 km with an elevation gain of 2800 m
- Vouga Trail Longo: 35 km with an elevation gain of 1900 m
- Vouga Trail Curto: 25 km with an elevation gain of 700 m
- Vouga Mini Trail: 15 km with an elevation gain of 400 m
Course Characteristics: The courses are designed to challenge participants with hilly terrain and scenic views along green trails, levadas (irrigation channels), and the banks of the Rio do Vouga. Runners will experience a combination of natural landscapes and urban settings throughout their journey.
Included in Registration: Participants receive various amenities as part of their registration fee, which starts at approximately 15 Euro. These include:
